Flooring Installation – The Boswells School
The Brief
The Boswells School contacted us through our website looking to replace their entire sports hall floor, which was a 40 year old oak floor. They were looking to have this sanded, sealed and to have some fresh line markings added.
Installation
The works started by taking up the existing flooring and removing this from the site. The next stage is to lay a thick gauge DPM taped at joints and overlapping at perimeters. The new Junkers SylvaSport 22mm solid beech tongue system was then laid and groove floor system above Unobat sprung bearer system. Once fully laid, our installation team lightly sanded the new flooring and applied 1 coat of approved high traffic, sporting traction floor seal, which meets BS7044 and European DIN 14909 standards. The new perimeter skirting was then added to the surround of the hall, followed by the new court markings, including 2 badminton courts, 1 volleyball court, 1 basketball court, five-a-side arcs and spots.
Outcome
The new flooring at The Boswells School has transformed their facilities. They are now able to safely perform numerous sports without leaving site.
