Traffic Light Reporting System
We categorise the status of your equipment using a clear, color-coded system to indicate levels of safety and necessary actions:
- Red – Fail/condemned: Equipment is beyond economical repair

Our inspector will identify any urgent issues during the visit and discuss these with you on-site.
Ensuring Compliance and Safety in Every Inspection
Industry Standards and Collaborations
Sportsafe’s inspection programme aligns with European standards EN1176 and EN1177 and is conducted in accordance with ISO 17020:2012. We also collaborate with OFSTED and the Association of Physical Education (afPE) for PESSPA inspections, ensuring our inspections meet educational and regulatory standards.
Health and Safety Certification
Your report and the list of remedial actions serve as proof of inspection. Once all necessary actions are addressed, we’ll issue your Health & Safety Certificate. If you handle repairs or disposal of equipment independently or through another supplier, please inform your Account Manager so we can update our records.
Important Health and Safety Notice
For your safety, any equipment marked for repair or replacement is not recommended for use until addressed. We advise completing all suggested actions promptly to maintain the safety of your sports environment.
