The key down service above gives the floor a fresh coat of finish. However, this will not renew the floor. If you have a floor that is in a particularly bad condition, we recommend our full sand and lacquer service, price on request.
Flooring Maintenance
Nothing is more important than ensuring your sports hall flooring is maintained. Flooring can easily be contaminated by grease and sweat which regularly attacks the lacquer and surface, vastly reducing the grip and protection the flooring gives to your users. Thankfully, Sportsafe can help with our flooring maintenance services.
Not only will regular maintenance keep your flooring in the best shape but you will be ensuring you are giving it its longest life and reducing costly outgoings in the future. It will also prioritise the safety of your users.

Our Flooring Maintenance FAQ
What is the process?
An engineer will visit your site and undertake a thorough scrub (key down) of the existing surface using machines and fine paper. Then, a standard coat of lacquer is applied to fully seal the refurbished surface.
We also include a free demonstration, a free advice sheet on cleaning and maintenance and a free cleaning kit with every service package completed. Additional coats of lacquer can be offered at an extra cost. Price on request, please complete the form below.
How soon can the floor be used again?
The floor will be fully cured and ready to use the next day.
Example: The work can be carried out on a Friday (from closure) ready for school/facility opening on Monday or completed on a Saturday/Sunday, ready for use the following day.

- Apply protectors on table and chair legs to prevent marks and scratches on the floor.
- Place mats near doorways to effectively trap dirt and grit.
- An eraser can be effective at removing black marks made by rubber sole shoes.
