MUGA Success – Leeds
The Brief
Middleton Primary School contacted us with an interesting problem. An inner-city primary school in Leeds with plenty of space, they found they had limited sports facilities for their children. The school identified an area of land which could be developed for a small MUGA to accommodate multi-sports for younger children aged four to eight.
Installation
We put our heads together and proposed a 12m x 24m Mini MUGA complete with a 3m high weld mesh fencing, double and single gates, full engineered base and artificial grass surface complete with permanent line markings for football and netball. To avoid an ingress of mud, an astro path was proposed which linked the MUGA back to the main playground. The whole project was designed in-house.
Outcome
Middleton School are delighted with their new multi-sport facility, which can be used all year round, encouraging fitness and student participation no matter the weather. The project was all managed using Sportsafe’s experienced Outdoor Team.
