Bespoke MUGA – Colchester

The Brief

Doucecroft School is a specialist co-educational school for children and young people with autism and additional complex needs, aged 3 –19 years. The school had fundraised a finite amount of money and contacted Sportsafe for an all-weather multi-sports area to enhance the school’s current facilities, be safe, and easy to manage with minimum maintenance.

Installation

Sportsafe engineers got to work designing a bespoke 15m x 30m sized MUGA, complete with sports 3m high weld mesh fencing to prevent balls escaping and double gates for maintenance with a rebound double layer for strength and durability. We arranged the groundworks to cope with uneven surface conditions and to provide spectator viewing areas.

Outcome

Sportsafe engineers worked throughout the summer holidays to deliver the project on time and on budget. The school and children are delighted with their new facility and with the complete project experience of working with Sportsafe and their installations team.
