Sportsafe is delighted to announce the expansion of its policy of supporting the next generation by launching the Sportsafe Academy.

The company will be working with schools, colleges and universities throughout the UK to offer work experience placements and apprenticeships which will not only promote safety and sustainability in sport but will also create a local workforce providing efficient, immediate and bespoke responses to customer requirements.

Following recent major contract wins and continued planned growth, Sportsafe is excited to be able to expand significantly the education and community programme it first established in 1997.  The company has always been committed to supporting local communities by providing access to quality training in several fields – including sports equipment inspection and maintenance, sales, finance, customer service, and warehousing – and is ambitious about increasing these career opportunities.

Students, aged 16+, joining the Sportsafe Academy team will gain an insight into specific job roles, with the option to learn about sales, marketing, customer service, finance or operations. Furthermore, they will gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst working with like-minded people, being challenged, earning a salary, and enjoying developing vital life skills.

Equally significant is Sportsafe’s innovative initiative to offer primary schools the opportunity to host ‘Mini-Inspector Days’.  These courses are a perfect way to enrich the curriculum by giving younger pupils hands-on experience with sports and play equipment – exploring the function and construction of the equipment, as well as understanding how important it is to take care of it.

“This year, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary,” says Sportsafe Sales and Marketing Director Claire Hunt, “and we are taking the opportunity to celebrate this by launching the Sportsafe Academy to further support the next generation.  From KS1 students on a Mini-Inspector Day to those starting out on a new career, we train individuals to become safety-focused professionals who are equipped with a variety of skills in various roles within the business.”

Please contact Sportsafe for further details on how to register for a Sportsafe training or learning opportunity within your area. Sportsafe looks forward to providing youth with a sporting focus with this valuable opportunity to gain knowledge, learn new skills, enhance their CV, and have a fantastic start to their career in the sports industry.
