Trim Trail Installation – St Aloysius Glasgow

The Brief

The site originally contacted us back in November 2024 looking to add something to an un-used area. The Sportsafe project team discussed multiple designs and ideas, and then mutually agreed with the site that a trim trail would be best suited considering the area and size of the play area. A new artificial grass had been laid the year prior, so we wanted to work around this to reduce costs for the customer. We also had to take into account the critical freefall height due to having the existing surface.

Installation

After agreeing on design and the site finalising their funding, a pre-start site visit was carried out to explain where the structure would be positioned and how it would meet safety regulations. This also gives the opportunity to attain all the relevant information to ensure the installation was smooth for the client and the installation team. The installation began as scheduled at the start of the Easter Holidays and was completed within 2 days. Day one consisted of prep, carefully cutting back the existing carpet and digging holes for the new structure. Day two was used for securing the trim trail structure into position, carefully re-gluing the existing artificial grass.

Outcome

“Thank you for all you efforts with this, you have been AMAZING!!” – Head of Mathematics. St Aloysius were very happy with their trim trail and the new use of their outdoor space . They said the install has given their students a new, exiting change to their break times.
