Sportsafe are celebrating after it was awarded a new contract managing dozens of facilities across the country for YMD Boon, of Leicestershire.

The contract will see our Inspectors going into primary schools and nurseries across Leicestershire, ensuring their outdoor and indoor physical education equipment is fully up to standard.

The facilities management company said it was more than impressed with the high standards and qualifications of Sportsafe Inspectors and would only be trusting them with their facility inspections.

Karen Reading, Compliance Manager at YMD Boon, said: “The reasons we decided to move forward with Sportsafe were two-fold. Firstly, as a large company that covers the whole of the country, we wanted to work with a company which had operatives nationwide. The main reason though was finding out about their new UKAS accreditation ISO 17020:2012. It really was a big thing for us. Up until now we have always been looking to try and find Inspectors who have the RPII inspection but there doesn’t seem to be any kind of process in reviewing the standards of inspections. The UKAS accreditation is externally approved and audited with qualifications and set pass rates which really do evidence competence. We’re looking forward to working with Sportsafe”.

Sportsafe’s Operations Director, Paul Neill said: “We are delighted YMD Boon has asked Sportsafe to take care of its indoor and outdoor inspections across its facilities. During talks, it became apparent that they were very keen to work with the only UK provider of the ISO 17020:2012 standard, ensuring the highest standard of sports equipment inspections. YMD Boon are a really exciting company and we cannot wait to get started”.
