The stadium race, a sprint of about 192 metres, has been going since 776 BC and Athletics, including 1500m, long jump and pole vault featured in the 1896 first modern Olympic Games. If you are thinking of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, you better get your 100m sprint speed up to 10 seconds (male) or 11.07 (female) and your hammer throw to 78.2m (male) or 74m (female)!
