We are proud to announce that Sportsafe UK has completed the acquisition of Sportfix Ltd’s sports equipment inspection & maintenance division. Sportfix is the leading provider of sports equipment inspection and maintenance South Wales.
The acquisition was agreed in June 2014, following Sportsafe UK being awarded a prestigious contract in South Wales, servicing some 450 schools on behalf of the Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Newport and Caerphilly Councils.
Sportsafe UK’s acquisition of Sportfix’s inspection & maintenance division will see some 2,000 schools being serviced from the Company’s operating base in Blackwood, and will not only ensure the continuous employment of Sportfix staff, but will also see the team being expanded at this location.
Sportsafe UK are now working together with their new colleagues from Sportfix to make sure that the integration is smooth and seamless. All Sportfix and Sportsafe UK customers will continue to receive their annual sports equipment safety inspections on time and with no disruption to service.
The new enhanced service centre will continue to operate from Sportfix’s premises in Blackwood under the day to day management of Sian and Paul Curtis. Sian Curtis, joint CEO of Sportfix, said about the acquisition:
“This new deal with Sportsafe has created better development opportunities for both Sportfix and Sportsafe UK. Working with Jon and his team has been fantastic, the integration is progressing seamlessly, and the development plans for the future are very exciting. I think I speak for everyone in Sportfix when I say I look forward to working as part of the Sportsafe UK team.”
Sportsafe UK is delighted to welcome all its new colleagues into the team, and guarantees un-rivalled service standards to its new customers.
Sportfix was set up in 1988 and has been trading for 25 years. Sportfix was initially set up by David Curtis, who was a world renowned trampolinist in the 60’s, winning gold medals in the Gymnastics World Championships. Sportfix had similar company values to that of Sportsafe UK, focusing on customer satisfaction, highest quality standards and competitive prices. Sportfix has enjoyed much success in Wales and Western England, building fantastic relationships with councils and customers alike.
Sportsafe UK was established in 1997 by founder Jonathan Neill. It has developed from ‘one man and a van’ to become a highly successful enterprise, now employing 60 staff, serving over 14,000 schools across nearly 100 councils throughout the UK. It already has operating centres in Colchester, Daventry, and Fort William, and is delighted to now be represented in Wales.
Sportsafe UK’s success means that it is continually expanding its workforce. Already, this year, it has recruited 8 new employees ranging from apprentices to departmental managers, and it still has vacancies in its sales and service departments in Colchester. Look on our company website and social media pages for more details about the employment opportunities.
