Sportsafe’s keen golfers came together on Thursday 18th September to battle it out on the greens and fairways at Stoke by Nayland Golf and Country Club. This was the third of Sportsafe’s annual team days with 15 staff members attending from our offices in Colchester, Wales, Scotland and the Midlands.
The day was a great success with fantastic weather and plenty of friendly competition. The clear winner from the day Barrie Page, an engineer from our Wales office, closely followed by Finance Director Amin Dedhar and Head Office Engineer Richard Louca. Well done to Barrie Page on his victory. The only question that remains is will Barrie be able to hold on to his trophy at next year’s event?
A longest drive and closest to the pin competition was also played on the day. Scotland’s Service Manager Charlie Donaldson swept to victory in the closest to the pin competition, followed by Jon Burnitt, our Midlands Service Manager winning the driving competition effortlessly.
The whole team had a great day with plenty of laughs, good food and of course, golf. Ben Hyde insisted on wearing a headband throughout the day and ended up with a rather interesting tan line after a day in the sun (photo below). Jon Taylor stunned fellow golfers with his patent pending birdy dance, which was unique to say the least. All in all the whole day was a great success.
The next team days planned are a theatre trip to see the Made in Dagenham musical in London on 10th December and a day trip to France planned for later this year.
Sportsafe would like to thank all team members who attended the Golf Day, well done to Barrie Page, Jon Burnitt and Charlie Donaldson. The Team days are aimed to bring the team closer together and thank the team for all their hard work. We look forward to Made in Dagenham on the 10th December!
