Installation of Indoor Netting Cage

Get In Touch Today

Guernsey Leisure Centre wanted to completely transform its multi-use suspended netting cage. The current nets were tired and no longer fit for purpose and staff wanted to encourage physical activity and team sport for users.

Installation

Staff were clear the job was not without its challenges, not least because of the dual use of the area for both indoor cricket and the unusual game ‘nets’. We needed to maintain the roof and perimeter of the netting cage even when they were not in use. To achieve this, we installed each cricket wing individually, as well as roof netting which would remain in place at all times and be unable to retract.

Once achieved, we installed a high spec 5mm thick knotless netting which is usually used for the hammer throw. This innovative solution from Sportsafe was required as nets players use the perimeter netting to rebound their body weight during a game. The nets were put under extreme tension to create a trampoline capability which would fit with players’ requirements.
